Platinum

Platinum is considered white metal by the trade with a rich gray-white look. Platinum glimmers alluringly in the light, a perfect complement to diamonds, pearls, and colored stones. Polished platinum’s luster can change over time, becoming softer and richer and achieving a subtle, enchanting glow.

Platinum is less rare than gold, at about five parts per billion of earth’s crust. Platinum has the least metal memory which means that platinum has superior holding power. Platinum is harder to scratch than the other two precious metals. Platinum takes a high polish, and it’s highly resistant to tarnish. Most platinum rates 900 or 950 on the fineness scale.
